The course

After completing this online course you are able to judge the printing quality of your packaging using different criteria and if possible implement improvements.

During 4 online live sessions the following questions will be answered:

• How to improve the quality of our packaging printing?
• On what areas can costs be saved?
• In what situations can we choose for digital printing, gravure, flexo or offset?
• Can we change the packaging material without changing our existing printing technique?
• How to improve our profitability during discussions with suppliers/customers?
• Can we solve printing problems already in the prepress stage?

The course language is business English and the course is globally accessible; you can participate from any place you wish (without any travel costs). All you need to attend the sessions are a computer, headset, adequate internet connection and the possibility/permission to connect to the system we use for our online learning modules.
The course is provided by a live tutor, located in the NVC studio. Your live tutor will answer all your questions during the sessions or afterwards.

This online course is the choice for employees, working at producers of packaged products or retail, responsible for the (improvement of) quality, safety and efficiency of packaging printing in their organisation or at their customers.

The course consists of:

1. Four online sessions provided by live NVC-tutor on four separate days
2. Preparation, assignments and commentary via online learning environment

Training session 1:

• Prepress and workflow management
• Introduction printing tools for digital printing, gravure, flexo and offset

Training session 2:

• Color management
• Quality management and assurance
• Printing inks: i.a. properties, treatment, migration

Training session 3:

• Printing tools and printing techniques
• Recognition of printing techniques: digital printing, gravure, flexo and offset

Training session 4:

• Substrates: i.a. paper, paperboard, glass, plastic, metal
• Quality management in practice
• Cost price
• Trends in printing techniques

Planning

The course consists of four separate consecutive three-hour online training sessions with live tutors.

After completing this course and when participated adequately you will receive the NVC-certificate ‘NVC Course Printing of Packaging’.
