NVC Course Food Packaging (Live Online)

The course

After completing this course you will be able to understand the important aspects of the packaging of food products. During the course our tutors will cover such topics as: packaging functionalities, packaging materials, packaging rules and regulations and interaction between packaging and product.

With the help of this knowledge, you will be able to choose the right packaging for your food products.

The course language is business English, the tutors are bi-lingual (English and Dutch) and the course is globally accessible; you can participate from any place you wish (without any travel costs). All you need to attend the sessions are a computer, headset, adequate internet connection and the possibility/permission to connect to the system we use for our online learning modules.
The course is provided by a live tutor, located in the NVC studio. Your live tutor will answer all your questions during the sessions or afterwards.

This course is the choice for employees with knowledge and experience in food industry, who will carry a shared responsibility for production and development of food products in relation to the applied package(s).

Programme

The course consists of:

1. Four sessions provided by live NVC-tutor on four separate days
2. Preparation, assignments and commentary via online learning environment

Training session 1:

  • World of food packaging
  • Packaging functionalities and product vulnerabilities
  • Food packaging materials (paper and board, glass, metal and plastic)
  • Overview legislation

Training session 2:

  • Food contact materials regulations
  • Certification: ISO, HACCP, BRC

Training session 3:

  • Packaging rules and regulations: Food and Drugs Act and labelling
  • Claims

Training session 4:

  • Development process
  • Product-packaging combinations
    Migration, permeation, heat conduction
