PROGRAMME
Packaging (filling, canning, …) is the activity of temporarily integrating an external function and a product to enable the use of the product. Each second the world business community is packing at least 300,000 products in the widest variability imaginable.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in general and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in particular will have a great influence on packaging in the coming years.
Fahimeh Pourmohammadi will present the results of her assignment, conducted at the NVC Packaging Centre as Data Scientist after graduating in the field at two different Universities. Together with the NVC team, she has been exploring where GenAI might be beneficial to the packaging business community. Also areas have been identified where severe risks may occur.
NVC director Michael Nieuwesteeg will present a general introduction about the assignment, that took place in July-August 2024. Together with Fahimeh, he will moderate the concluding debate with all participants in preparation of potential new NVC member activities in the year 2025.
