NVC Chair Packaging Design and Management
The NVC Chair Packaging Design and Management was established on 1 May 2006 at the Faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente. By establishing this university chair NVC has created a unique meeting place both for people involved in higher education and in industry, in the field of packaging. The chair is held by professor Roland ten Klooster.
Education
The education of the next generation of students ensures good academically schooled people with knowledge of packaging, for now and for the future. Through two courses in the curriculum of the Master Industrial Design Engineering and a master thesis, students lay the foundation for their future careers in the packaging field.
Programme Council
NVC has established a Programme Council as a bridge between business and academia, consisting of carefully selected NVC member companies: Schoeller Allibert, Tata Steel Packaging, Trivium Packaging, FrieslandCampina, Smurfit Kappa Development Centre, Masterpack Group, Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, Royal Vaassen, Koninklijke Paardekoper Group, Syntegon, Optimum Group and Hordijk. The Programme Council meets twice a year, facilitated by the NVC, with the professor and his staff to exchange knowledge and discuss future plans and to give guidance to education and new research.
Contact with student association
NVC also maintains a close relationship with S.G. Daedalus, the study association of Industrial Design at the University of Twente to stimulate good contacts between business and students as well.
