Progress in review regulation organic production and labelling

A compromise has been reached about the proposal to review Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products and repealing Regulation. This compromise serves as a basis for the negotiation of the European Commission with the European Parliament this autumn.
The Netherlands has agreed with this compromise, because many of the points crucial for the Netherlands have been adopted. Regarding the import of products a compliance system will be set up. Concerning the consequences of the presence of unauthorised products or substances in organic products, a process approach will be taken rather than a threshold value (Newsletter Waar&Wet, 7 July 2015).
