PhD Thesis at NVC Chair Packaging Design and Management

On Thursday 26 April 2018, a festive event took place at the University of Twente: the PhD ceremony of Jos de Lange on the basis of his thesis entitled "Information as a workpiece: an architecture for content-driven design support".
In his research Jos asks the question whether the design methods of the future will be 'top-down' or 'bottom-up' to achieve the best results. In other words: do we already program all possible outcomes in the design tools or are we moving to design support that makes learning on the go possible and even encourages it? Jos de Lange is the first doctor that has obtained his doctorate with a thesis at the NVC Chair Packaging Design and Management.
