NL: Dutch House meeting circular economy February 2017

31 March 2017

On 16 February 2017 the Dutch House Committee on Infrastructure and Environment held a debate on the circular economy. The final minutes were published on 15 March. The subjects discussed include expanding the deposit system to include small plastic bottles, the pilot ‘Clean Reward’ where a small reward is given for collected cans and small bottles and the evaluation of the Framework Agreement for the packaging industry 2013-2022 in the fall.
A popular subject was the petition presented on 14 February by the Plastic Soup Surfer. He wants the deposit scheme to include small bottles, with a deposit fee of at least €0.10. The State secretary agreed to adopt the petition in the form of a motion.
