NL: Study on packaging waste of under-threshold companies
TNS-NIPO has performed a study of under-threshold companies in the Netherlands. The study was commissioned by the Packaging Waste Fund. These so-called under-threshold companies are companies that place (much) less than 50,000 kilogram of packaging on the market. The Packaging Waste funds estimates that there are a couple of hundred thousand of these companies.
One of the aspects that was taken in to consideration was the size of the company (number of employees). The results show that companies with 2-4 employees are the largest contributors to packaging waste. The sectors wholesale, retail trade, industry and agriculture account for the largest amount of packaging.
