NL: 77% of packaging expected to be recycled in 2017

Based on prognoses, the Dutch Packaging Waste Fund is expecting that in 2017 77% of all the packaging that has been put on the market will have been recycled. That once again means growth (2016: 73%) and the expected recycling result is therefore way above the Dutch target of 70%. The Netherlands also surpasses the EU target of 60% by far. With these numbers, the Netherlands is one of the European front-runners.
As plastic packaging waste can no longer be recycled in China because of the Chinese import ban, the Packaging Waste Fund expects a slight decrease in the recycling percentage for plastic packaging waste (News Item Packaging Waste Fund, 14 June 2018).
