NL: 2014 Packaging Management Decree published

The Netherlands has published the 2014 Packaging Management Decree. Most of the decree comes into force on 1 January 2015. The article concerning beverage cartons (article 7) and the articles concerning the deposit system for beverage packaging (articles 11-15) will not come into force yet.
Arrangements were made in the Framework Agreement addressing the issues of packaging waste and litter for the years 2013 to 2022 and its addendum.
It was agreed in the Framework Agreement that the arrangements should be laid down in legislation as far as possible in order to enable enforcement action. This is the rationale for the drafting of the new rules for packaging.
