Drupa trade fair organization describes packaging profession for printers
Under #Printingprofessions the organisation of the print world exhibition drupa 2020 describes in a blog (in German) the profession of Packmitteltechnologe. Interesting to read where one sees the challenges in the profession for the future.

Exam NVC Packaging Professional
Friday 17 January 2020 the first exam NVC Packaging Professional of the year 2020 took place. The independent exam is supervised by the Netherlands Business Exams Authority and the Diploma NVC Packaging Professional I is internationally characterised in terms of the European Qualifications Framework for Life Long Learning EQF with level EQF5. All graduates of the past years are included in the Register of NVC Packaging Professionals, which now holds 672 names. The next graduation ceremony takes place 30 June 2020.

The 2019 global inventory of qualifications frameworks
The Global inventory of national and regional qualifications frameworks is a major collaborative work of Cedefop, UNESCO, ETF and UNESCO’s Institute for Lifelong learning that was recently published. It captures and analyses global trends in qualifications frameworks and consists of two volumes: Volume 1 (1.79 MB) with six thematic chapters and Volume 2 (6.41 MB) with 102 individual country descriptions and seven regional qualifications frameworks.

Contribution of digital employees to grow by 50% in two years
A survey from IDC has revealed the true extent of software robots supporting humans in the workplace. The IDC White Paper, Content Intelligence for the Future of Work, sponsored by ABBYY, indicates that the contribution of software robots, or digital workers, to the global workforce will increase by over 50% in the next two years. Employment dynamics in the Netherlands and USA
According to the statistics agency CBS (in Dutch), in the third quarter of 2019there were 9 million people in paid employment in the Netherlands, 106 thousand more than at the end of 2018. The 45-75 year-olds accounted for more than 60% of that growth. The number of over-55s working in NL is increasing rapidly. The number of 15-45 year-olds is growing less rapidly.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment rates were lower in December 2019 in 11 states, higher in 4 states, and stable in 35 states and the District of Columbia. The unemployment rate (3.5%) was 0.4% lower than in December 2018.
