Where and how does the human-robot interaction change the workplace?
The extent of interaction between workers and robots is expected to increase in modern workplaces due to rapid advancements in robotic technologies. Drawing on survey data and case studies investigating advanced robotic systems and applications, a new report (603 kB) by Eurofound explores the opportunities and challenges that come with closer human–robot interaction, with a view to contributing to the broader policy debate on the automation of work.

Between hope and fear: companies embrace AI and go for skills growth
The rapid adoption of (Gen)AI in businesses is creating a split-screen effect. On one side, employees are reporting increasing confidence in these tools over the past year as they use the tools more frequently. On the other side, employees who regularly use GenAI tools are more likely than others to worry about job loss. Overall, 49% of regular users believe that their job may disappear in the next ten years, compared with only 24% of employees who do not use GenAI. These hopes and fears emerge from a global survey (337 kB) by BCG under 13,102 employees.

The great hesitation: less job changing in sight?
Bank of America has published an analysis (177 kB) on how many people are changing jobs in the US market, based on internal data. Focusing on job-to-job (J2J) moves, they find little sign of significant slowdown, and the rate of J2J moves is still above 2019 levels. However, the median pay raise people are receiving when changing jobs is dropping back. In fact, it is about half the amount that it was at the time of the "Great Resignation" and is currently below 2019 levels.

Staff wellbeing crucial for business growth, says ABN AMRO survey
The labour market is still very tight in The Netherlands. According to a forecast (1.84 MB) by ABN AMRO (in Dutch), businesses are expected to struggle with a structural labour shortage, partly due to an ageing workforce. Employers will therefore have to commit to increasing employee wellbeing, not only to recruit staff more easily and keep them longer, but also to increase labour productivity.
