Good performance starts with confidence in own abilities
Only a little bit more than three quarters (78%) of the Dutch employers have confidence in their own abilities. That is a considerable decline of six percent. Spanish employees score the highest, 89% has confidence in their skills level.
“It is alarming that the number of employees that feels confident in their work is decreasing,” says Martijn Brand, General Manager The Netherlands at ADP. People who feel very replaceable or not competent enough for their position will take on extra tasks that are not part of their job description because they fear losing their job. This increases the risk of stress or, in the long term, even a burn-out” (News Item ADP, 11 April 2018).
