Effects of green tea extract on properties of polyamide packaging film
Green tea contains amounts of antioxidant compounds. Researchers at the Islamic Azad University in Iran studied the effects of green tea on the properties of polyamide packaging polymer. The active packaging film was produced by incorporation of different levels of methanol green tea extracts.
The results indicated that green tea extract increased antioxidant properties and tensile and young modulus of polyamide films. Oxygen and water vapor permeability of films were decreased by incorporation of green tea extract. Green tea extract improved the barrier and tensile properties. An article about the research is published in the Journal of Chemical Health Risks.
