Sustainability not yet top-of-mind with online shopper
The Sustainability Compass (DuurzaamheidKompas) 2016 shows that the online shopper has a specific profile in relation to sustainability and health that retailers need to take into account. Convenience and a wide variety of products are important to the online shopper.
The online shopper finds information about special (day and week) offers more important than information about sustainability, for example about the origin of products or information about quality marks (organic, FairTrade, etc.). There also appears to be less need for information about health, such as the composition of products or legally required information about products (News Item Schuttelaar & Partners, 14 April 2016).
