Consumer will get more insight in the production chain

With the advent of the smart phone, technology has made its way into our pockets. More and more apps make our life easier. An increasing number of people is allowing apps to influence their lifestyle.
Information from agricultural companies about the way of production and sustainability is expected to make its way to the smart phone of the consumer. From that moment on the consumer will get more insight in the production chain. The consumer will then be able to purchase food based on reliable information that is retrieved from the source. To some consumers biodiversity might be important, while others are willing to pay more for CO2 reduction (News Item ABN AMRO, 14 February 2018).
