Belgian registration for nano mixtures enters into force
A law requiring companies to register mixtures containing nanomaterials with the Belgian authorities, has entered into force. Belgium had delayed the deadline by one year to 1 January 2018. The law, which amends the nano register, was published in the Belgian Official Journal (Moniteur Belge) on 15 January.
The extension was agreed after industry said registering mixtures containing nanomaterials was a complex process and took a long time. Belgian regulations offer a transition period of three months and therefore companies will have until 31 March to revise their registrations. Cosmetics products have been exempted from nano registrations (ChemicalWatch, 24 January 2018).
