WUR video: Algae: the green gold
The Week of the Circular Economy ran from 16 to 24 January. Wageningen University & Research developed three videos for nu.nl, focused on their work in the field of sustainable resources for materials from algae, dandelions and sugar beet. The videos are in Dutch, but you can turn on English subtitles. One of the videos has the title ‘Algae: the green gold’.
The global population is growing and so, therefore, is the demand for energy, chemicals and products such as plastic. To meet this demand, we have to switch to an economy in which the raw material for these products comes from sustainable, renewable resources. Microalgae are an example (News Item WUR, 20 January 2017).
