Global beverage packaging market 2017-2021

According to a new report by Technavio, the global beverage packaging market is expected to grow at a CAGR of more than 5% during the forecast period, 2017-2021.
Plastic is preferred over glass bottles, jars, and metal containers as it is lightweight, comparatively cheaper than other packaging materials, and available in different designs. The alcoholic beverage sector is the primary end-user of glass beverage packaging. Beer is one of the main commodities that requires glass packaging due to its sensitivity to UV light. Durability is one of the key features driving the adoption of metal packaging in the beverage industry (Press Release Technavio, 8 February 2017).
