UK: Wales publishes draft guidance on mandatory separation of four recyclable materials

On 1 January 2015 businesses and other organizations will be required to separate waste paper, metal, plastic and glass, as required by the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011. The Welsh Government has published a draft guidance for organizations to use in preparation. A consultation on the draft document is open through 21 July 2014.
The guidance states that every relevant establishment or undertaking that does not separately collect waste paper, metal, plastic or glass should actively consider how much collection is practicable and whether separate collection would improve the quantity of material that could be recycled (Recycling Laws International, 1 May 2014).
