Report Bio-based Performance Materials Symposium 2017

29 August 2017

On 15 June 2017 the 6th edition of the Bio-based Performance Materials Symposium (BPM) symposium took place. Key industry players such as Cargill, Stora Enso, Avantium, DuPont, Total Corbion, PaperFoam and more reflected on their R&D strategies and shared with the participants how bio-based materials have been and could be introduced to the market successfully.
Several technologies, especially on PLA and PEF/PET may have a great impact on packaging in the next decade. Technologies to use carbon dioxide as source for new materials were also discussed and show prospects. The conference results will also be referenced in the Technology working group of the NVC PUMA project.
