Packaging e-commerce aims for customer experience
An article published by Uwwebwinkelinfo.nl, appearing in an appendix of De Telegraaf on 18 January 2016, looks at the implications of the growth of e-commerce on packaging. There is a definite shift in packaging priorities.
Developments in packaging for e-commerce can be seen in the supply chain, the customer’s unpacking experience and the trend to pack sustainably. Smaller, more frequent and more specific deliveries to individual customers require different packaging than full pallets during distribution. Pack sizes and distribution methods are being optimised for increased efficiency, and packaging print is relocation to the inside of the packaging for a superior customer experience.
