Increased number of companies offer business education

12 September 2017

In 2015, 85% of companies were offering courses or other business education. Five years earlier, this was only 79%. The increase is mainly caused by small and medium enterprises. On average, companies spent 1.1 thousand euro per course participant. This is the conclusion of the Statistics Netherlands (CBS), based on new data.
In this case, business education is any education or course that the employer initiates, facilitates or partially finances.
Most of the business education is in the form of courses. Other forms are, for example, supervised training in the workplace or visits to conferences, workshops, lectures and seminars (News Item CBS, 13 July 2017).
