SQF version 8 comes of force beginning of 2018
Safe Quality Food (SQF) is a supply chain management system for food safety of food products that was developed in Australia. In the spring of 2017, version 8 of the SQF standard was published. This version comes of force on 2 January 2018.
At the moment mainly American and Australian businesses choose an SQF certification. The SQF programme is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which means that the requirements of the programme are comparable to the BRC and IFS requirements. The SQF standard can be applied to all phases of food production and related sectors like feed, packaging materials, storage, distribution and retail (VMT, 16 October 2017).
