Singapore launches logo for products with reduced packaging

03 July 2017

The Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) has announced two new packaging waste reduction initiatives. The first is the launch of an eco-label (LPRP) that helps consumers to identify products with reduced packaging. Consumers are encouraged to look out for the logo on consumer products from the latter half of 2017
The second initiative is that, under the mandatory reporting framework to be implemented by 2021, businesses that place packaging on the consumer market would be required to submit an annual report with information on the type and amount of packaging they are placing on the market and their packaging waste reduction plans (News Release NEA, 5 June 2017).
