Dutch government presents vision for Generative AI
The Dutch government (in Dutch) is one of the first EU member states to present a vision (607 kB) for Generative AI. The vision emphasises the importance of taking action in view of the possibilities and challenges of this disruptive and at the same time promising technology. The vision is in line with several already ongoing million-dollar investments from research institutes, businesses and governments to better connect the Netherlands to the lightning-fast developments in artificial intelligence.

DHL analysis of globalisation's state and trajectory
DHL has released its Global Connectedness Report 2024 (25.1 MB), an analysis of globalisation's state and trajectory. It tracks how flows of trade, capital, information, and people move around the world. The analysis of global trends examines three questions at the centre of current debates about globalisation: Are global flows still growing? Is geopolitical rivalry fracturing the global economy? Are international flows becoming more regional?
100 autonomous ground and aerial robots can be supervised by one person
Research involving Oregon State University has shown that a “swarm” of more than 100 autonomous ground and aerial robots can be supervised by one person without subjecting the individual to an undue workload. The findings represent a big step toward efficiently and economically using swarms in a range of roles from wildland firefighting to package delivery to disaster response in urban environments.
Thriving in an age of continuous reinvention
According a report (9.69 MB) by PwC, the proportion of CEOs who believe global economic growth will improve over the next 12-months has more than doubled year-on-year. However, almost half (45%) of CEOs do not believe their businesses will be viable in a decade as tech and climate pressures accelerate. While the trajectory is positive, confidence is fragile as megatrends including technological disruption, like generative AI, and the climate transition converge.
