Poland: Draft regulations on heavy metals in packaging
Poland has sent two draft regulations to the European Commission concerning heavy metals in packaging. The first (2014/471/PL) is draft Regulation of the Minister of the Environment on packaging, for which the requirements on the content of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium in packaging do not apply. The standstill period ends on 31 December 2014.
The second (2014/504/PL) is draft regulation of the Minister for the Environment on the method for establishing the total concentration levels of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium in packaging. The standstill period ends on 19 January 2015. Both regulations are drafted to transpose Article 11 of Directive 94/62/EC.
