Online sales are rising strongly, the turnover of e-commerce increased by 9% to € 9.8 billion in 2012. The number of new Web stores is still growing. Despite the apparent ease with which this market is growing, in the field of e-fulfilment, the logistic handling of ecommerce orders, there is room for improvement.
The success of Web shops depends on good service and logistics. At the same time it turns out that for logistics service providers is it also difficult to respond to the wishes of Web shops. Sometimes Web shops go bankrupt, because they have lost the grip on the logistics process or because the business concept insufficiently matches the logistics capabilities.
