Research: GS1-pallet label saves thousands of euros

Suppliers reduce the time of stay of their trucks at the dock of the distribution centre when they use GS1-pallet labels and electronic commerce transactions with SSCCs. According to the calculations of CAROZ – commissioned by GS1 Netherlands - a supplier with 200 weekly shipments can save almost 150.000 euro a week.
The potential financial savings have been calculated for different shipment sizes, both for standard goods reception in which every pallet is scanned and for fast lane. The research has been done, based on the numbers of retailers and the Dutch Championship Speed Docking.
