O-I shows NVC students the world of glass packaging

Trainees undertaking the NVC Course Programme in Packaging I recently visited the glass plant of Owens-Illinois, Inc. (NYSE: OI) in Leerdam. The objective of the visit was to show the trainees – who already work in food or pharma - the design and commercial possibilities of glass packaging. Through a tour of the plant they also had the opportunity to get a close look at the glass packaging production process.
During the visit to O-I, the trainees learned more about the process of ordering a bottle, the technical design challenges of glass packaging, the lead time and transport. They were also given the opportunity to ask questions about the material and its production (News Item O-I, 2 July 2018).
