NL: Pact for a Litter-free Netherlands

27 February 2018

During the Week of the Circular Economy, the Netherlands Packaging Waste Fund announced the intention to halve the amount of litter in the Netherlands with the Pact for a Litter-free Netherlands. This pact tackles all the litter and in addition makes sure that 90% of the small PET-bottles are recycled.
To preserve useful resources the Netherlands Packaging Waste Fund makes it possible to recycle the litter that is collected by the municipal sanitation service through post-separation. The pact requires parties like municipalities, businesses, schools, districts, sanitation services and associations to work together (News Item Packaging Waste Fund, 17 January 2018).
