NL: Raw materials agreement - Circular economy by 2050

28 September 2016

A national raw materials agreement will be concluded to ensure that the Dutch economy will be running completely on reusable raw materials by 2050. This is stated in a government press release of 14 September 2016. State secretary Dijksma and Minister Kamp will make agreements with the stakeholders aimed at realising a 100% circular economy. Minister Dijksma is allocating 27 million euros for improved waste separation and funding of new innovations aimed at improving the recycling capability of products. Environmentally harmful products will be tackled so that alternatives will emerge for non-recyclable packaging such as that used for crisps and soups, according to the press release.
