NL: Inspectorate withdraws warning, black plastic trays do comply with the essential requirements

In November 2013 we informed our members that black plastic trays may be banned as the Inspectorate for the Environment (ILT) had issued the opinion that the trays do not comply with the essential requirements (EE) for packaging and the environment. The reason: these trays are not sorted out for material recycling.
In the meantime it has become clear that black plastic packaging does comply with the EE, an opinion that was also shared by NVC and communicated to ILT. The fact is that you can also choose energy recovery because of the calorific value of plastic. NVC is in possession of a letter, sent by ILT to a company that had lodged an objection, stating that the warning is withdrawn.
