NL: Information sheet on labelling and claim use on infant nutrition
This information sheet, prepared by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, discusses labelling and claim use on infant nutrition.
Rules for labelling and use of claims are defined in the Infant Commodities Act 2007, which refers to Directive 2006/141/EU on infant and infant follow-up nutrition, amending Directive 1999/21/EU. The information sheet distinguishes between infant nutrition and infant follow-up nutrition. It is not required to refer to the importance of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle when stating health claims on infant nutrition. They are believed to be less relevant (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, 15 April 2014).
