NL: Packaging sustainability plans for 3 industry groups

27 August 2015

The Netherlands Knowledge Institute Sustainable Packaging (KIDV) has sent the first set of sustainability plans for the industry to the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. It concerns the plans of the following industries:’ vegetables and fruit’, ‘food and animal feed’ and ‘e-commerce’. A plan for r-PET in small PET bottles was also included.
The Framework Agreement for the Packaging Industry 2013-2022 states that the industries will establish plans to make product packaging combinations more sustainable for 2018, and that they will use the highest obtainable objectives as the starting point for this. The industries will also do this in 2018 for 2022.
