NL AEB Amsterdam and Packaging Waste Fund sign agreement
AEB Amsterdam has signed an agreement with the Packaging Waste Fund (Afvalfonds Verpakkingen) to process packaging waste for the Amsterdam metropolitan region. AEB Amsterdam said the agreement would make it possible to make investments in the development of innovations that contribute to optimizing the recycling chain.
The company separates recyclable materials from collection streams and converts the residual material to energy. In particular, the agreement will make post separation of plastics more practical economically and increase plastics recycling. AEB Amsterdam set a goal to quadruple its recovery of raw materials from waste by 2018 (Recycling Laws Update Bulletin, 16 January 2017).
