Sustainable development indicators for the European aluminium industry in 2012

The European Aluminium Association EAA has published their overview of sustainable development indicators for the year 2012. For the section on the use of aluminium, the main market applications i.e. Automotive & Transport, Building & Construction and Packaging, and the related recycling performance, both qualitative and quantitative information is included. More than two thirds of aluminium beverage cans in Europe were recycled in 2011, representing at least 25 billion cans - three times more than 20 years ago.
The condensed pdf-report also provides data on a range of social sustainability indicators for the industry, like direct (80,000) and indirect employment (255,000).
