Hungary: Amendment to product fee regulation sent to EC

Hungary has sent an Amendment to Act LXXXV of 2011 on environmental protection product charges to the European Commission. The draft shall repeal the concepts of commercial packaging and commercial packaging supplies from 1 January 2018, whilst also introducing the definition of metal beverage packaging supplies. This way, it will remove related administrative burdens.
As of 1 January 2018, tax administration shall be governed in a new regulatory environment that repeals Act XCII of 2003 on the rules of taxation, which is the current underlying legislation of the Act. The draft refers to new tax administration acts that enter into force at the same time as the amendment.
