Generation Z on the factory floor: how to find and bind them?
Smart industry requires employees with other competences: digital work, creative, multi-disciplinary, working together and understanding of software and ICT. The search for new employees with these characteristics starts with Generation Z, the generation that was born after 1996. This generation grew up in totally different circumstances than its predecessors, providing them with a clear set of stronger and less strong characteristics.
Generation Z has a larger feeling of responsibility, a persevering work mentality, is self-confident, creative, solution-oriented and feminine. They also value individual attention and prefer not to work full time (News Item ABN AMRO, 20 February 2018).
