FME: "Europe, invest in technical skills"
FME chairman Ineke Dezentjé Hamming pleas for an ambitious agenda of social partners and the European Commission to make labour markets more dynamic and invest in technical skills and competences. She made this appeal during the European Social Summit that preceded the European Council.
Next to a European legal framework that stimulates flexible employment, she also asked for the promotion of digital learning and open educational sources. She also emphasized the importance of learning digital skills as early as possible, giving a clear field for lifelong learning, and mutual recognition of skills and qualifications between EU countries (News Item FME, 17 March 2016).
