An overview of crowdfunding in Europe

A wealth of background financial data is provided in the report Current State of Crowdfunding in Europe that was published by CrowdfundingHub on 31 March 2016. Covered is the crowdfunding industry in 27 European countries, describing trends, volumes and developments in regulations and legislation.
Four different types of crowdfunding are analysed: donation based crowdfunding, reward based crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending (where possible subdivided into consumer and business lending) and equity based crowdfunding. An Alternative Finance Maturity Index is created as a fundament for further study. This captures the causes behind the current state of crowdfunding in a certain country.
