Germany sends Order to European Commission amending the Packaging Order

Germany has sent an Order to the European Commission: Seventh Order amending the Packaging Order. The standstill period ends on 12 June 2014.
The Order aims to solve urgent problems in implementation and provide fair competition between the dual systems. The options for own return and sector solutions are evidently being used by some dual systems to exclude packaging volumes from the licensed amounts which should be licensed under the dual system, even though this packaging is in reality returned for recycling through dual systems. With this amending Regulation the Government wishes to prevent these destructive competitive methods within the dual systems.
