Qualified personnel required for digitisation of industry

According to a report by ABN AMRO numerous initiatives can already be identified in the industrial sector that have delivered a significant increase in efficiency. Digitisation is a catalyst in this process and IoT has sparked revolutionary developments.
The digital transformation will cause the demand for qualified technical personnel to increase, while the need for lower qualified labour (which can be automated more easily through, for example, the use of robots) will most likely decrease. In any case the demand for personnel with the right skills and expertise will remain at the same level, because the shortage of skilled personnel remains a structural problem.
