Rather than front-loading formal education into the first two decades of life, The New Map of Life envisions new options for learning outside the confines of formal education, with people of all ages able to acquire the knowledge they need at each stage of their lives, and to access it in ways that fit their needs, interests, abilities, schedules, and budgets.

Nice talent – if you are given the opportunity to grow it...
Businesses cry about the fight for scarce talent , but the harsh reality is that millions of young people will struggle to find work as they have not been given the opportunity to actually build their talents. While the youth population has exploded by 30% in the last 20 years or so, the number in the labour force has actually decreased by approximately 12%. The COVID-19 pandemic has made it even tougher for young people to find a qualified – and qualifying - job. These worrying findings are shared by UNICEF and PwC in a recent report (2.56 MB).
