Demonstration days PicknPack successful

Demonstration days of the PicknPack project were held in May. In total 140 visitors from industry and research participated in workshops, demonstrations and presentations. In the past 4 years, researchers have worked on the development of modules for a flexible food packaging line. During the last 6 months of the project, the focus was on the integration of the separate modules into a complete line. Although not all functionalities could be fully integrated, the result was a continuous packaging line of 20 meters. During the demonstration both tomatoes and chicken breast were packaged. The required changeover to another product took only 5 minutes (News Item WUR, 15 June 2016).
