BE: Royal Decree concerning food contact materials changed
On 27 June 2017, the Royal Decree of 12 June 2017 to amend the Royal Decree of 11 May 1992 concerning materials intended to come into contact with food was published.
A number of definitions were added to clarify who should be in possession of a Declaration of Compliance (DoC). The rules that were laid down in the amendment of 15 June 2015 remain valid. The DoC has been brought more in line with the DoC according to the Royal Decree for varnishes and Regulation 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. From now on, the new version should be used when you have to produce a new DoC (News Belgian Packaging Institute, July 2017).
